Printing Confidential Documents

To print a confidential document to a Lexmark printer, you can use the printer's Print and Hold feature to temporarily store the job in the printer's memory until you're ready to print it:

Open the document you want to print
Click File > Print
Select a printer
Click Properties, Preferences, Options, or Setup
Click Print and Hold
Select Confidential as the print job type
Assign a user name and a personal identification number (PIN) to secure the job
Click OK or Print

Go to the printer when you're ready to print the document, you can release the job from the printer's home screen:

Go to Held jobs
Select your user name
Select Confidential
Enter the PIN
Select the print job
Configure any settings
Click Print

You can also use the printer's Confidential Print Setup feature to modify settings like the maximum number of PIN entry attempts and the expiration time for confidential print jobs.
