Account Self-Service for Cerner Password Management
Cerner provides an account self-service functionality that allows you to reset your own password. Account Self-Service is a web-based functionality that uses strong credential policies to help reduce potential unauthorized access and eliminates the need to engage Cerner support services to reset your password. NOTE: this is ONLY available when logging into Cerner at OSH computers. Link not available remotely.
Setting Your Security Questions
Before you can use the Account Self-Service functionality, you must setup security questions that can confirm your identity. This helps to prevent others from resetting your password.
Complete the following steps to setup your security questions:
- Once you log into Cerner, click on the “Tasks” icon
- Click “Start” under Manage Security Questions.

- Enter an answer in the box under each question.
- Answers must be a minimum of two characters.
- Answers provided are not case sensitive during the registration or password reset process.
- Provide answers which are memorable to you and not easy for others to guess or discover.
- Click Save.
- Click Continue.
Changing Your Password
Complete the following steps to change your password:
- From the log-on page, click Account Self-Service. The Self Service Password Reset page is displayed.
- In the Username box, enter your username.
- In the Current Password box, enter your current password.
- Click Login.
- Click Change Password.
- Enter a new password in the New Password box.
Note: Ensure that your password meets the minimum requirements:
- MUST be at least 12 characters long
- MUST be changed or expired every 90 days
- Recent Passwords cannot be re-used (last five are blocked)

Must contain characters from at least three of the following four classes:
- Uppercase (A-Z)
- Lowercase (a-z)
- Number (0-9)
- Symbol (!, #, @, excluding $)
- NO spaces
- Additionally, it won’t let you put recognizable words unless you break up the word with a capital letter after the first letter
- Enter the password from Step 6 in the Confirm Password box.
- Click Continue. Your password is reset.
Resetting a Forgotten Password or Unlocking Account
Complete the following steps to reset your password:

- From the log-on page, click Account Self-Service. The Self Service Password Reset page is displayed.
- Click Forgotten Password.
- In the Username box, enter your username.
- Click Search. After locating your username, the system displays two questions previously selected by you to confirm your identity.
- Enter the answer to both of the questions displayed.
- Click Check Answers. If you answer both questions correctly, a new page is displayed and you can reset your password.
- Enter a new password in the New Password box.
Note: Ensure that your password meets the minimum requirements: 12 characters, at three of the following four items: upper case letter, lower case letter, number and/or special character.
- Enter the password from Step 7 in the Confirm Password box.
- Click Continue. Your password is reset.
